WORLD ON FIRE
Here we go again
It always starts small
But we’ve seen this movie before
The rise and the fall
The world puts Hispanics and Muslims on notice
The Jewish tried to warn us, but no one took notice
Locked up in a concentration camp
Complete darkness. No light, no lamp
Men refusing to cede control over a woman’s body
But who asked them in the first place? Nobody
They are stronger than we’ll ever be
Maybe if we listen to them we’ll finally be free
Fires out West, burning so bright
Smoke clouds gathering, blocking out the light
Flames burning through homes
Leaving only ashes behind, no bones
Nuclear bombs falling on innocents
Got us all wondering, “where’s the common sense?”
There is none, it’s gone
Will it be back with the coming of the dawn?
I ponder these thoughts in an empty K-Mart
The whole world is falling apart
And yet, I still cling to this hope in my heart
That one day, we’ll have a fresh start
